GENERAL INFO ALL COURSES

  • You need 4 subjects per N level.

  • To do a trade test you need to have a N2 Certificate in your trading field, as well as 72 weeks practical experience.

  • For 3 fase electricity, you need a N3 certificate in electrical engineering, as well as 72 weeks practical experience.

  • N3 is equivalent to Grade 12 although the N4 will be very difficult to start on after matric, we advice you to start with N3 after Grade 12.

  • You may get exemption for N3 Science and Maths if you passed it on standard or higher grade in grade 12 (matric).

  • You may do 5 subjects on N5 level and only 3 on N6 level.

 

BURSARIES & FINANCIAL AID:

Students may apply for the Eugene Raymond bursary at registration. Management will grant bursaries on merit.

The best performer of the previous exam will automatically be granted a bursary for the applicable subject. 

 

REFUNDS:

Refunds of tuition fees can be granted if cancellation is done in writing within ten working days after registration (directors discression). Administration fee of R300 will be deducted + R100 per subject. 
 

ACADEMIC SUPPORT:

Learner support measures are informed by the learner profile. Learners with special needs are supported appropriately.
Contact sessions are available in certain areas. 

 

MODE OF LEARNING:

  • Correspondence / distance learning.
  • Full time classes.

 

LANGUAGE POLICY:

All study material and examinations are available only in English (Afrikaans only in exceptional cases).

The NCV study material and examinations are also in English only.

 

ASSESSMENT:

Correspondence learners are assessed by means of one written assignment.

 

EXAMINATIONS:

Can be written with Technicol SA College or any other FET college

It is the responsibility of the learner to register for examinations and collect exam timetables at the relevant centre in advance.

Term marks are sent to the Department by Technicol SA College.

NO ADMISSION TO EXAM VENUES WITHOUT ID AND EXAM PERMIT!

Exam results will be available at the centre where exams were written.

 

ACADEMIC CREDITS:

Credits are awarded according to the NATED 190/191 and NQF criteria.
 

PROGRESSION:

Opportunities for further learning are created.

Application for re-writes and re-marking must be done within five working days after results are released.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Engineering Studies N1 To N6:
Business Studies N4-N6.
National Certificate (Vocational) Levels 2 To 4

 

RPL:

Learner placement takes into account redress and recognition of prior learning.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Engineering Studies:Grade 9 or older than 16 years.

Business Studies: Grade 12.
National Certificate (Vocational): Grade 9
Adequate information and guidance is provided to potential learners during application and enrolment.

 

MANAGEMENT:

The executive management consists of three directors and administrative managers at the head office situated in Centurion.

 

ADMIN STAFF:

Administrative staff handle all queries and examination administration.
 

ACADEMIC STAFF:

Academic staff can be contacted at the contact sessions or per facsimile through head office.
